Hearing Protection

Hearing Protection is crucial to protect your ears from loud noises in manufacturing in construction environments. Hearing protection is any device or material used to reduce the noise that is heard by the ears.

Ear protection comes in two main forms: earplugs or earmuffs. Earplugs are inserted into the ear to reduce noise levels and earmuffs are placed over the ear to reduce noise levels. All hearing protection devices are rated by a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR). The NRR describes the average sound level reduction provided by hearing protection. The higher the NRR, the higher noise reduction rating it provides.

There are many different types of earplugs to choose from such as foam earplugs, push in ear plugs, metal detectable earplugs, corded or uncorded earplugs, and reusable earplugs. When choosing proper hearing protection, it is important to consider the type of environment the earplugs will be worn in and the level of comfort needed.

If hearing protection is required to be worn throughout the entire work shift, it is important to select hearing protection that is comfortable and will reduce the noise to acceptable levels. A best practice is to provide multiple options to employees, because hearing protection is not always a one size fits all solution.

No matter what style you choose, it is important that workers are wearing them properly and they fit. Explore our extensive selection of hearing protection today.
